Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is believed to be a big fan of Locatelli
And Sassuolo chief executive Giovanni Carnevali is adamant Locatelli will only leave for the right price.
He said: “We are waiting for an adequate proposal, otherwise Locatelli will remain at Sassuolo.
“We will close our transfer market in the first few days of August.”
With Granit Xhaka heavily linked with a move to Jose Mourinho’s Roma, Arsenal will need to replace him.
Locatelli seems to be the ideal successor to Xhaka, who joined Arsenal for £35million from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016.
The 23-year-old scored twice in five appearances at Euro 2020 as he helped Italy win the tournament.
